Link vs. Shining Armor by Primogenitor34 Link vs. Shining Armor by Primogenitor34
EDIT: Featured in EquestriaDaily's Drawfriend, #553.

[link] <<It's at the 20th spot.

This is actually something that was brought up quite often earlier. In my old "MLP vs. BRAWL" image, one recurring question kept coming up: "Where's Link"? Well, at the time of that drawing's fabrication, I felt there was no one that would pair up well with Link as to where it made sense.

Then came along the Season 2 finale of Friendship is Magic, where Shining Armor makes his entrance. I knew that those two had to be a good match for each other. Both Link and Shining are heroic, they are well-trained knights, they fight to protect their princesses. Couldn't ask for a better match-up, in my opinion.

The background was a toughie here. I decided on a fantastical forest ruins theme, so I guess you can say that this takes place in Link's universe. There is fog in the background, curved trees, and ruined structures in the scenery (most of it is hidden behind Link, but trust me, it's there).

So, for all of you people who've been asking where Link was in that old MLP vs. BRAWL image, I say to you, "Here he is!" I hope you enjoy it. This was definitely a fun one to make, and I'm proud of the turnout, seeing how this is my first time ever drawing Link.

Princess Celestia is not a goddess, hence why Shining Armor is the captain of the Royal Guard and not the Divine Guard. Link, on the otherhand, is the Chosen Knight of the Goddess Hylia, Keeper of the Triforce of Courage, Wielder of the Master Sword (the Legendary Blade of Evil's Bane that Sparkles with the Power to Repel Evil), the Hero of the Winds and the Hero of Time. I think it is fair to say that Link wins this one.

"Princess Celestia is not a goddess"
Yes she is. I honestly do not see how she can be seen as anything less. If those weaklings in the God of War series are gods, so is Celestia. End of debate.

"hence why Shining Armor is the captain of the Royal Guard and not the Divine Guard"
That's a rank you made up yourself

"the Hero of the Winds and the Hero of Time"
These are mutually exclusive; each individual Link is EITHER Time OR Winds, not both at once

"I think it is fair to say that Link wins this one."
While I don't disagree, I'm going to examine Shining Armor a little bit more thoroughly (seriously, fuck your "Hylia is a confirmed goddess but Celestia is only implied" fuckness backwards-ass shit). Armor has an advantage of reach thanks to telekinesis, and a presumed advantage in defensive magic (his shields go 360, can be put anywhere, and can hold up to an entire army's worth of firepower; Link's is just as durable, but is limited to his right arm). If we wanted to stretch things, he could probably trap Link in a shield more or less indefinitely, forcing Link to use one of his instruments to teleport several miles away. Plus, both warriors are Lawful Good, so "
the Legendary Blade of Evil's Bane that Sparkles with the Power to Repel Evil" is just a hunk of metal in this fight (that goes for both parties)

Link's advantages come down to experience, versatility, and willpower. And probably endurance, because humans have ridiculous endurance. He will almost assuredly find a way to hit Armor EVENTUALLY, and from there it's just a matter of outlasting him
