Huzzah! Man I'm having fun with backgrounds now.

This was actually something I had planned to make several months ago, but never got around to doing, since I was extremely doubtful of my background-making skills. I only created the characters at first, and left it at that.

Glad that phase is overwith. :iconwhewplz:

Anyway, if any of you avid Friendship is Magic fanatics have ever heard of the song Loyalty, created by MandoPony, it was that track that inspired this image. If you have not heard of it, then go do so.

Or not, and listen to the rest of what I've to say. It makes no difference to me...! Going on... I feel the best part about this image is that, if you want to, you can even use this as a wallpaper if you'd like! I set the canvas to my desktop's dimensions and worked off of that. Maybe later I can try and revise it to fit larger screens as well.

I hope you like it, because I feel the months of waiting were well worth the payoff.

As RainbowADash has explained, the colouring is fine, you've simply mirrored what it should look like. Don't feel bad, loads of artists make the same mistake you have; I think people are using other artists work as references so the mistake has become increasingly prevalent.

For Orientation:

RD's cutie mark has the red on the outside of the cutie mark along the "longest" curve, while the blue makes up the inside or "shortest" part of the curve. So your cutie-mark is correct in that aspect...

BUT as far as the show goes the cutie mark is facing the wrong way. For canon correct positioning the red "longest" curve of the cutie mark should be closest to her inner thigh. In other words the cutie mark's red side should be closer to her head than the cutie mark's blue side.

In all reality with the amount of incorrect and correct cutie mark designs it doesn't inevitably matter and isn't always immediately noticeable. Most fanon artwork has it facing the wrong way.
...even the show's artist put it in for a scene the wrong way once.
